Executive Park History
- 1887Arthur E. Stillwell founds the company known as KCS. Stilwell and Edward L. Martin incorporate the Kansas City Suburban Belt Railway.
- 1890The Kansas City Suburban Belt Railway begins operation, serving the Argentine District in Kansas City, Kansas; Independence, Missouri; and the riverside commercial and industrial districts of Kansas City.
- 1900KCP&G becomes the Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCSR)
- 1962To pursue investments in non-rail business, KCSR President William N. Deramus, III, establishes Kansas City Southern Industries Inc. (KCSI) including land that could be developed for companies desiring to the railroad service.
- 1972ADCO affiliate Lee National Corp. bought 21% of Kansas City Southern Railroad.
- 1974ADCO sold this interest back to KCSR in a favorable transaction for substantial cash, assets, and 1,200 acres of land in Kansas City, MO. ADCO then developed Executive Park, a massive, multi-use, campus style industrial park, conveniently located close to the Kansas City Central Business District, Kansas City International Airport, and the Truman Sports Complex. Executive Park is the hub of a broad range of business / commercial enterprises including offices, marts and showrooms, research and development companies, and state-of-the-art warehouses.
- 2019MDC purchased the property in November 2019. The location was chosen for its close proximity to transportation routes as well as a large labor pool in the surrounding area. Phase II of the project will consist of two additional buildings totaling 282,500 square feet. Construction of Phase II will begin following stabilization of Phase I.
